A proving ground is defined as a place where something is developed and or tried. We as Christians are on such ground, and this world, this earth is such a proving ground. And we shall be tested, tried, proved, and tested; to see whether we be in the faith. (2 Cor. 13:5)

I Tremble

From the foundation of the world God has always had a people that were willing to stand for the truth. A people who heard the voice of God, and believed what he had spoken. And they lived their lives proclaiming the truth of Gods Word. They stood up against false religions, false gods, false prophets, and teachers. They fought against the armies of darkness, and considered their lives lost for the cause; knowing that they had a promise of a better inheritance.

As the author of Hebrews declares to us the faith and resolve of such men of God I find myself trembling; trembling with admiration for men who where fully persuaded. For men of God that believed God at his Word. They were not a perfect people, but they where willing to pay the price. They did not bend a knee nor lend an ear to the devil. When God declared his Word to them; they forsook it not. They put their faith, their trust, and their hope in the power of The Almighty; consumed by the living God: loving not their lives unto the death. I tremble.

Yet, here we stand today. The promise of their hope revealed to us; Christ Jesus. And the accomplishments of our day; they are few to none. For we have forsaken the promise of our inheritance. We have blasphemed the name of Jesus; trampling under foot the Gospel of Christ our Lord. We have cast out the Prophets of God, and have rejected his Spirit. And have gone whoring after other gods. All this we have done, and we have done it in the name of God. I tremble.

I tremble for I see what lays ahead. I tremble when I hear and witness supposed men of God lie to those seated before them. I tremble when I perceive that the Church would rather have it’s ears tickled then behold the truth. I tremble at the apathy of the Church. I tremble that men’s hearts are not stirred towards repentance, but nay, rather they rejoice in their iniquity, and boast they are lovers of God. I tremble for I know the end of them. I tremble.

Jesus asked if he would find faith on the earth when he returned; I understand why he asked such a question, and I tremble. I tremble because I wonder if there will again arise a people willing to fight for the truth. A people willing to stand on God’s Word and proclaim his name throughout the nations. A people not afraid of the scourge men. Not afraid to stand against the overwhelming odds of the religious harlots. Not afraid to face the armies of the wicked one. A people willing to declare the Word of the Lord, and sound the trumpet proclaiming, “Thus saith the Lord God; walk ye therein that ye may live and not die.” A people who will once again lay down their lives for the name of Christ. A people willing to tremble before the Lord and obey.

I tremble.

Boot camp provides training for soldiers preparing for war but, the true test comes during the first real battle with the enemy. God's children have been in training but the real test is yet to come! I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

so true! And to know that judgement must first begin with the house of God, but the church as it is, can it really be called the house of God? Is He really welcome there? Is he really welcome into their lives? A Holy God CAN NOT be in the presence of sin, yet people would rather have their sin than the presence of God. Truely sad for a people that are supposed to be called out and chosen. And for the remnant that truely is His, to try and talk to the other so-called children of God it is truely sad to see that their is no truth in them, and they don't understand. Seems like they are the hardest people to reach.
And in response to what "Forgiven" said, could you imagine a drill sargent preaching a Love Gospel to his troops and giving them no real meat and expecting them to be ready for battle? Could you imagine him sugar coating what war would be like just to get them enlisted, how many would be able to withstand in the battle?

Many are called but few are chosen. How many will be standing when Christ comes? Many will not heed to His calling. We live in a time where there is no natural affection. People don't care what they say or how they act. Truly it is close and pray that there is still just enough time for a few more to receive salvation.
